International Affairs
The Taliban have been leading a monstrous regime since the early 1980’s. They are a bunch of psychiatrically challenged vagabonds who hide behind the shield of religion and make large claims on how they are there to rectify world order and restore strict religious values in the Islamic world and beyond.
The truth is that they are no different from the mastermind of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre or any other reputed serial murderers in the world claiming to have a purpose behind what they are doing. They have suppressed the Afghan people for decades, enforced their interpretation of Islamic Shariah Law and destroyed the very essence and values of this peace loving religion in the world today. In the name of God, they have killed, raped, pillaged, murdered, beaten, mutilated, and tortured innocent people, citing verses from the Quran as their justification, when those verses have had a totally different meaning the whole time, without even a remote reference to the use of force in spreading the word of God.
Feeling the pressure and continuous defeat at the hands of advanced artillery and military power, they have now chosen to retreat into the ungoverned regions of Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province, having the audacity to threaten the Pakistani government that they will use utmost force in trying to enforce successfully in Pakistan what they couldn’t in Afghanistan.
These monsters have committed heinous crimes, killed scores of innocents in their quest for a state that follows in their footsteps of radicalist propaganda and misinterpreted religious teachings. Video footage from their recent invasion of the beautiful Swat Valley, and now humiliating ejection from the same, provides evidence for the lengths to which their dementia has taken them in trying to create a state of their own. They have ‘beheaded’ innocent men between the ages of 18 and 60 for ‘committing crimes’ like not having a beard, letting their women work, letting their women receive a respectable education, sending their children to study sciences instead of purely religious education (when Islam preaches the exact opposite: the religion lays its foundations in the spread of religion via peace and harmony, and acknowledges the importance of education in all forms, making clear citations that ask mankind to go as far as is possible and permissible to attain as much knowledge and education as possible), and a lot more.
The Taliban have recently been mercilessly beheading innocent civilians in the Swat Valley of Pakistan, who refused to follow in their footsteps. They have killed scores this way, mutilated their bodies and put them up for display in town centres.
Video footage to confirm this: http://islamabadobserver.com/2009/04/20/taliban-slaughtering-accused-like-animals/. These videos are disgusting, viewer discretion is advised.

How can the world stand back and watch these monsters torture innocents in the name of God? They need to be removed from the country’s borders, tried in International courts and publicly executed for their heinous crimes. This is the next big thing after the holocaust.
Someone needs to do something and fast.

British Politics
The proposed extradition of the 916,424 BNP voters / illegal aliens (terms to be used interchangeably) will bring temporary relief to Britain’s “immigration problem,” yet there will still be those who demand further action. I am in two minds about this issue, really; practicality vrs morality.
I heard an American man on the radio rant and rave that on the 65th anniversary of D-Day, we are passively letting an “invader” into our country through lax immigration policies. Aside from the obvious flaws in this argument (immigrants to this country can hardly be construed as a hostile force and thus compared with the Nazis!), I am left thinking, even if you do see immigrants as ‘invaders,’ who are we to tell them to keep out? When the British invaded India, who gave us permission? When we invaded other societies, did we not use the excuses of needing more resources, to bring us greater wealth, and a better life? So when people come to our country for the same things, how can we morally stand in their way?
Of course, the world does not function within a moral framework – at least, not very much. It is based on practicality. On who is the richest and who is the strongest. Except in Britain, maybe moreso than in other nations and perhaps due to our morally confusing history, we seem completely torn between the two mindsets. We let our politicians embezzle thousands of pounds of tax-payer money, then do nothing about it because there is no “law” against what they did.
In a political system defined by inaction, it’s no wonder that nobody goes to the polls.
We always seem to agree on a compromise that pleases nobody, with our ridiculously forgiving criminal justice system and weak hope that murderers, pedophiles and rapists can change, or our obsessive monitoring of our population yet refusal to then use this evidence to prosecute (”we didn’t tell the terrorists we were recording their conversations, so we can’t use this evidence against them!”), being two obvious examples. It is this search for compromise and balance that will leave issues like immigration forever unsolved, forever in stasis, but I guess it is also what defines us as a rich country enjoying the luxury of democracy – apparently.

British Politics
I’ve been frustrated for many years by these cries for independence by the countries of Britain, the most forceful of which has to be Scotland. Their fundamental argument has a redundancy factor second only to that of the BNP’s concept of “indigenous Britons” (in a nation whose history is defined by being invaded, and being invaders, what exactly is an indigenous Briton?!).
I think the final straw for me has to be one of the most imbecilic attempts at logic I have yet to hear; Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will not participate in a British Olympic football team, because they feel it will subsume their national identities. What?!! A huge proportion of the world’s population already use the terms ‘England’ and ‘Britain’ interchangeably. With Britain hosting the Olympic Games, this is your chance to educate the world. How does allowing a British team to be comprised of solely English players do anything to correct people’s thinking? Does it in fact do the opposite?
Beyond the world of football, Scotland feels somehow ‘overshadowed’ by England in particular; England, the only country in Britain not to have its own parliament. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are free to vote on English matters, while the English cannot interfere with matters in their countries, as these are controlled by their respective parliaments. The Scottish unsurprisingly vote for higher costs for the people of England, while simultaneously voting for lower costs for people in their country. The English subsidises almost every aspect of Scottish life, with education (free university for them, top-up fees for us!) and healthcare being two that spring to mind.
Who exactly is fighting to prevent full Scottish independence, and why?
Finally, I have decided, if you can’t beat them, join them. With the latest results of the European Elections, I am inclined to favour independence for London.
If London became an independent country, there would still be nineteen countries smaller than it, and it would still be amongst the top ten economies of the world. Given that the BNP failed to win a seat in London and were greeted with a barrage of eggs upon arrival here, I am confident that London has sufficient mental capacity among its citizens for self-governance. Any BNP-sympathisers are free to move to the North, in preparation for extradition to a rocky, uninhabited island, where all 916,424 BNP voters can forge themselves a few spears, strip down to their loin cloths, and enjoy being indigenous together. Grounds for deportation are that all 916,424 of these individuals are illegal aliens. Non-Brits (for they fail to comprehend what Britain is in its very essence), who will be unable to present a valid Visa upon demand.

Random Musings
A four year old boy flushes his puppy down the toilet in a supposed attempt to “wash” it, and for some bizzare reason, his mother decides this is a funny or cute story that she needs to share with the world.
Except it’s not cute. And, contrary to how the media is trying to frame this story, there really is no happy ending. That child is a criminal in the making, and that’s really not the kind of thing you should want to be advertising to everybody.
The kid claims he wanted to wash the puppy; has this child ever been washed by being flushed down the toilet? Has he ever witnessed anything being flushed down the toilet for the purpose of washing? At four years old, you know that flushing an animal down the toilet is not going to yield a positive outcome. He knows that things are flushed down the toilet to be destroyed.
Instead of all this positive attention he is getting, where are all the people worried about what future horrors this deranged little mind might perform? That child is going to grow up to be one of these. Cute? Funny? I’m not seeing it.
